The discourse Theory Summer School is designed to take participants from an introductory level through to an advanced understanding of the approach and its practical application. Drawing on critical theory, deconstruction, post-structuralism, psychoanalysis, and post-Marxism, discourse theory is a novel approach to the study of politics, culture, and society. It offers an empirically applicable framework of concepts and methods to analyse questions about, for example, the impact of new social movements, the politics of identity/difference, demands for radical democracy, and the emergent ideologies and social imaginaries that structure our contemporary world.
